Earlier this week, we brought the full album stream of YACHT‘s forthcoming Shangri-La to your attention. Now, the pop duo have released a music video for their singles “Utopia,” and “Dystopia (The Earth Is On Fire),” which features YACHT jamming “Utopia” while travelling through an odd world that somewhat reminds me of the episode of the Simpsons where Homer turns 3D. Suddenly, the world is destroyed, and “Dystopia” kicks in with its wonderfully catchy synth ..

Based off our listening of the synth-pop single “Utopia,” and the disco-filled “Dystopia (The Earth Is On Fire),” it is safe to say that YACHT‘s June 21st release, Shangri-La, is going to be a summertime hit. The idea behind the album is that the future is a blank slate, with a perfect world that is made up of songs. What exactly does this mean? We aren’t quite sure, but, luckily, NPR has full album stream for you to help us figure it out!

After unleashing their synth-pop single “Dystopia (The Earth Is One Fire),” and a DFA radiomix, YACHT are now sharing their funky disco jam titled “Utopia.” Where “Dystopia” showed the duo using their synthesizers, and vocals, to settle back in to their pop groove, “Utopia” uses these same forces to put some extra pep in YACHT’s step. “Dystopia” may be where “the earth is on fire,” but “Utopia” is up to us to make!

Last month, Green Label Sound’s Classixx busted out a killer dance track titled “Into the Valley.” If you thought the party was going to stop with the original, than you should hold on to your hats, as the electro two-piece YACHT have gone ahead and remixed the track. Take a listen/download the track, but first check out what YACHT had to say about the remix:

“We’ve been waiting for the chance to return the favor and make a remix for Classixx ever since the amazing Psychic City remix they made for us. We like to make remixes that really alter the structure and sometimes message of the original, while maintaining the overall spirit inside. ‘Into the Valley’ has one of the most inspired vocals that we’ve heard in recent memory. It was an honor to make/break this song.”

David Bowie isnt the only artist tossing out the instrumentals/tracks to his releases for the remix masses .. YACHT has also decided to release some jams so the peoples of the interweb  can remix/karaoke the hell out of the tracks … May be I should just remix their songs and make it enjoyable to my ears and my ears only ..
