Washed Out (aka Ernest Greene) stopped by the KEXP studios earlier this month to perform a few tracks from his latest release Within and Without. From his long-awaited debut Within and Without, Washed Out (aka Ernest Greene) has released a video for the lead single “Eyes Be Closed.” My copy of Within and Without arrived late last week, and since then, I haven’t stopped spinning the gorgeous baby blue vinyl. After one listen through Washed Out‘s Sub Pop debut Within and Without, you will get the sense that Ernest Greene’s one-man, bedroom project has evolved in a big way. Where earlier recordings give the sense that Greene was “trapped” in a room, with nothing more than an array of synthesizers, Within and Without features a larger sound that holds true to Washed Out’s distinct brand of lo-fi, chillwave, pop music.

Previously, we have heard the single “You and I,” and today we have “Echoes,” and “Amor Fati,” which translates from Latin to “love of fate.” The first 500 people to pre-order the LP will receive a bonus, limited edition 7″ featuring “Belong” b/w “Phone Call”, two tracks from the 2009 Washed Out High Times EP.
