Over the past few months, Liam Dirlam has released a steady flow of remixes under the Voodoo Farm moniker. Each new release from the Farm showcases new sounds and techniques that Dirlam is trying out as he masters his electronic craft. That being said, check out the Voodoo Farm remix of Icebird‘s single “Charmed Life.” While the original balances RJD2‘s soulful beats with the vocals of Aaron Livingston, Voodoo Farm’s remix features a brand new synth line and heavy backbeat, which gives the track a more airy feel and allows the vocals to dance around in your head.

Additionally, Voodoo Farm  has given Florence + The Machine‘s single “Shake It Out” the moombahton remix treatment. Not bad for his first moombahton track, eh?

On July 29, NYC-based producer/DJ/filmmaker Liam Dirlam brought his Voodoo Farm project to a live setting at Dewey Beach’s Bottle And Cork. While the set consisted mostly of remixes that Dirlam has released over the past few months, an unreleased track was included as the closer, and we have never been more excited to share a new take on  Marvin Gaye‘s ”I Heard It Through the Grapevine.” Let the soulful electro blow your speakers up!

Aloe Blacc‘s single “I Need A Dollar” has found its way to every corner of the blogosphere, has been used in commercials, and even found a spot as the theme to an HBO series. The single, along with Aloe Blacc’s album Good Times, has received a steady amount of attention from us, but we were always left wondering when a killer remix of the track would surface. Earlier today, Voodoo Farm provided an answer with his remix of “I Need A Dollar,” which keeps the soulfulness of the original, but adds the electro beats that the VF moniker has become known for. Liam Dirlam (aka Voodoo Farm) has returned with a filthy remix of Miike Snow‘s “Silvia,” along with a masterfully crafted video accompaniment. Each time a Voodoo Farm remix is released, we see Dirlam unleashing some new tricks he has had up his sleeve.

A few months ago, we brought you the Voodoo Farm remix of Adele‘s “Rolling In The Deep,” which featured samples of Jay-z, and Biggie. Apparently, Liam Dirlam (of Voodoo Farm) felt that the original mix was solid “but the sound was over-compressed and didn’t BANG in the speakers like it should have.” Lucky for us, Dirlams’ work ethic caused him to get “surgical on that bitch” and remaster the track into even more of a banger! Check it out below ..

Liam Dirlam (aka Voodoo Farm) is an electronic artist that we have been chirping about for quite some time, and if you have yet to check out his material, we highly suggest you get with it. In the past, we have seen his killer remixes of The Doors, Adele, and Outkast, and now we can add Wiz Khalifa and 2Pac to the list. Watch the video for the remix, below, and make sure to crank the volume!

Also, make sure to keep an eye out this Fall, for the next album from Voodoo Farm, which will feature Liam Dirlam and Robert E. Corrigan Jr. (from Muscle Car Chronicles) along with guest appearances from several other talented artists.

What better way to end the workweek, and kick-off the weekend, than a new remix from Voodoo Farm! Check out Liam Dirlam’s (aka Voodoo Farm) remix of the Outkast single “Wheelz of Steel”, with some additional vocals from NYC’s Lady Gaga. Other than those two samples, everything else on the remix was created by Voodoo Farm, along with some guitar work from Robert E. Corrigan Jr., and the vocal and synth stylings of Johnny BLK. This is definitely one of Voodoo Farm’s top remixes to date, so check it out!

Camp Bisco will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year as the three-day music and arts festival has slotted itself in for another round in Mariaville, New York this July 7-9, 2011. Since the initial lineup announcement last week, tickets for the event have been moving fast, and we suggest you order yours here.

Last year was our first Bisco experience, and I must say, it was a real good one. Originally, I went to the festival to see Wu-Massacre, LCD Soundsystem, Pretty Lights, and Holy Fuck. While I ended up seeing all of these acts, I, more importantly, learned a lot more about the electro scene and left with a large laundry list of artists to check out.

This year, I will be heading to Camp Bisco with a better idea of acts to check out, and as you can see from the list above, there are a ton to choose from. I am thoroughly excited to see Black Moth Super Rainbow return to the stage, and am interested to see how the Bisco crowd reacts to BMSR frontman Tobacco‘s set. Methinks it will go over real well, and I am now counting down the days until the weather gets warmer and the festival season is in full-swing.

Also, to celebrate the announcement of the Bisco lineup, our friend Liam Dirlam (aka Voodoo Farm) has released a mix of some artists who will be performing this year. Over some whiskey shots and live music at MusicVagabond’s one year birthday celebration, Liam Dirlam (aka Voodoo Farm) was describing to me an upcoming project he was going to be working on. While I recall zero facts about what he said (damn you free Jameson,) I do remember leaving the conversation very excited to see what he had in store.

I’ve got to admit, when DJ/Producer Liam Dirlam (aka Voodoo Farm) told me that he was heading out West for a vacation, I honestly believed he was going on some sort of  vision quest in the desert. While this may or may not have turned out to be true, Dirlam did manage to record some footage of his adventure, which has been chopped and edited into the dope video below. The tastiest part, however, is the featured track, which is a mash-up of Adele‘s “Rolling in the Deep” with some additional vocals from Jay-Z and Biggie.

It’s been a while since we made a post about those NYC electro-pop rockers in Voodoo Farm but that does not mean they have been keeping quiet! Liam Dirlam recently wrote, edited, and directed (for the first time) a music video for the band’s track “Helium Can’t Save You” and I am mighty impressed with the outcome. Being that I just peeped VooDoo Farms latest myspace blog post, I  figured I would drop a couple notes to keep you caught up on those crazy cats. Not only have the trio been rockin’ venues all over NYC throughout the past year but  they are currently planning on releasing a “newly mixed/mastered version (and possibly a 12” vinyl) of [their] debut album with some really wild cover art and some extra goodies thrown in there.”

Dig it RIGHT?! Well if that is the case OR you are looking for more Voodoo Farm goodness, the band is letting you download their first album FOR FREE … definitely check this beast out!
