DOWNLOAD :: The White Stripes – “Seven Nation Army” [The Glitch Mob REMIX]

February 7, 2011

It should come as no surprise that the break-up of The White Stripes would result in a large number of fans relistening to the duo’s discography and in some instances, creating a remix. Such is the case for the single “Seven Nation Army” which gets a grimy remix from The Glitch Mob. Thanks to Some Kind of Awesome for the heads up!

jwBrooklyn Vegan is reporting that White Stripes frontman Jack White has joined a new band called The Dead Weather. The band consists of singer Alison Mosshart (The Kills), guitarist Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age), and bass player Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs).

tpIn posthumous release news…it looks like we’ll be getting albums from Tupac, and J. Dilla in the next few months, as well as a novel from David Foster Wallace.

slMusic News Net.com is reporting that Soulive will be releasing a new album entitled “Up Here” April 14th.  The band will be touring in support of the album in April and May.  You can click on the MNN.com link to see the full list of tour dates.

coolio1It’s been a rough couple of months for Coolio.  After having a bunch of British people steal his shit at a show last month, he was arrested last week at LAX after authorities found crack on his person during a routine search.

What Exactly Did the White Stripes Do On Friday?

February 23, 2009

The White Stripes played the final episode of Late Night with Conan O’Brien on Friday. At first I didn’t like the performance. It was their first live gig in over two years and it seemed extremely under-rehearsed and just kind of bad. However, I came across a comment on youtube that proposed a pretty interesting theory. The comment is copied below. Check the videos out for yourself and let me know what you think.

Wow, I just realize — they were singing it differently because it was in Tune to Conan’s lullaby he often does when he sings to put babies to sleep at night!!! Die Hard Conan fans know what i’m talking about! That’s crazy.

copy past so more people get a chance of reading this
they did this performance FOR Conan, not for themselves and trying to gain fans, they did it for their friend

Something good came out of Jimmy Fallon recently (that constitutes news).  Due to the fact that The Roots will be serving as Fallon’s house band, they will also kick off a residency at New York’s Highline Ballroom Thursday, March 5th and running through June 23rd.   TICKETS ARE $10 DOLLARS.  Guests are expected nightly (it’s been pegged The Jam).  Thanks to JamBase for the heads up.  [Note: I just ordered tickets for two of the shows.  All of the shows are on weeknights, and all begin at 11:30. ]

Conan O’brien announced The White Stripes will be the musical guest for his last episode (February 20th).  David Letterman scoffed and announced U2 will have a residency as his musical guest the week of March 2nd.

Also, Flight of the Conchords released their new music video “Friends” (filmed at The Gutter in Williamsburg).  I like them because they are funny.
