Earlier today, Chris Chu of The Morning Benders posted a new track titled “Oh Annie”, which did not make it on to the band’s 2010 release Big Echo. Oddly enough, Chu said that his “only regret with ‘Big Echo’ is that this song wasn’t on it. I wrote it after watching Annie Hall for the 100th time.”

Ladies and gentlemen, let the 2011 festival season begin! Earlier today, Coachella announced that its festival will take place on Friday, April 15, Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA. While The Mornings Benders album Big Echo got great reviews throughout the interwebs, I have yet to give the record a proper listen. I’ve heard the singles, seen some lives videos, and read all about them yet never got motivated enough to take the time out of my day and let Big Echo work its magic.

As ignorant to the The Morning Benders as I may be, I do know (or think I know ..) a solid remix when I hear one. While perusing through my google reader this morning, I came across a post by Will over at We All Want Someone regarding a summer mix that Chris Chu of the Morning Benders had created in an effort to help you keep cool during the heat while sending out some awesome musical vibes. This post, however, is about a little extra slice of goodness that Will’s post included.

Apparently, Chris Chu covered Joanna Newsom’s “Have One on Me” and played it over J Dilla’s “U-Love”. Being that I am a J Dilla fan who is constantly scooping up vinyls as I find them (thanks to my boy Hoffman) I figured I would pass this track along …
