[NEW] LISTEN :: The Black Keys – “Lonely Boy”

October 26, 2011

On December 6th, The Black Keys will release their 7th studio album, El Camino. After teasing the album release with a video about Pat and Dan selling a beat up El Camino, the duo have finally treated us to a new single “Lonely Boy.” On the track, The Black Keys kill it with their garage rock sound and even include some back-up singers to help augment Auerbach’s vocals.

The Black Keys will be releasing a 12” of “Lonely Boy,” along with its b-side “Run Right Back,” on November 25th as part of Record Store Day’s “Back to Black” Friday.

El Camino is currently available for pre-order here.

DOWNLOAD :: The Black Keys – “Everlasting Light” [The Mummers REMIX]

January 26, 2011

After seeing this pop up on the interwebs (i.e. Some Kind of Awesome, I Guess I’m Floating, Listen Before You Buy,) I have finally gotten around to posting the amazing remix of The Black Keys‘ single “Everlasting Light” by The Mummers. What was originally a straightforward bluesy, garage rock jam has now been transformed into an orchestral pop piece that for some reason reminds me of the circus.

DOWNLOAD :: Wick-It The Instigator – ‘The Brothers of Chico Dusty’ EP [The Black Keys x Big Boi]

December 22, 2010

Earlier this month, we found an awesome mash-up by Wick-It The Instigator of The Black Keys‘ track “Tighten Up” and Big Boi‘s hit single, “Shutterbug.” If you dug that track, then you should get excited that Wick-It has gone ahead and released an entire EP titled The Brothers of Chico Dusty, which finishes off the combination of The Black Keys’ album Brothers and Big Boi’s Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. Both these albums have been making appearances on many blogs’ year end lists and so a mash-up of the two is certainly worth checking out ..

VIDEO :: The Black Keys – “Next Girl”

May 3, 2010

My apologies for the lack of posts over the past few days .. a bum knee + a birthday celebration for myself + a sunny weekend with a free MGMT show at my alma mater forced me to stay as far away from a computer as possible. That being said, The Black Key’s latest video for “Next Girl” certainly made my Monday morning a tad brighter with Frank the Funkasaurus Rex .. I mean scantily clad women  .. . just watch it for yourself and enjoy.

The Black Keys “Tighten Up” video feat. Frank the Funkasaurus Rex

April 1, 2010

OK .. so the track “Tighten Up” is dope as hell BUT the video that has been released features a puppet lip-synching Dan Auerbach’s lines. The best part? The puppet is of a dinosar named Frank who is a Funkasaurus Rex. Clearly, the Black Keys knows that MY name is Frank and I too am a Funkasaurus Rex. Go me!

Don’t forget to check out both new tracks from the Black Keys here.

NEW TRACK :: Black Keys offer “Next Girl” from ‘Brother’

April 1, 2010

Enjoy the new track “Next Girl from The Black Keys upcoming release Brother. Where “Tighten Up” had Danger Mouse’s fingerprints all over it, “Next Girl” seems to show Auerbach and Carney bringing back that relaxed blues style that they’ve become famous for. Both tracks are available for download when you pre-order tickets to their tour (dates are after the jump) ..
