As a follow-up to yesterday’s post regarding The Rapture‘s new video for “Sail Away,” and a bonus track that was included on the Japanese release of In The Grace Of Your Love, we wanted to let everyone know that the band is holding a remix competition for the single “How Deep Is Your Love?”

“How Deep Is Your Love?” by The Rapture – if we can be a bit self-congratulatory – is a pretty awesome song. We know you guys agree. That’s why, for the first time in our 10 year history, we’d like to ask you folks to share your take on the track with us. Download the stems via the soundcloud player below and craft whatever sort of remix you’d like. Once you complete your masterpiece, submit it to the dropbox on the bottom of the page for a chance at fame and fabulous prizes! Three runners-up will win signed copies of In The Grace Of Your Love, while a grand prize winner will win a one year Soundcloud Pro account, valued at 250 euros! The final 5 selections will be played live on a very special live White Out Sessions broadcast and can be voted on via a live feed twitter and discussed amongst a “panel of experts”. The deadline for all entries is Monday December 5, so get to it!

Over the past few months, Liam Dirlam has released a steady flow of remixes under the Voodoo Farm moniker. Each new release from the Farm showcases new sounds and techniques that Dirlam is trying out as he masters his electronic craft. That being said, check out the Voodoo Farm remix of Icebird‘s single “Charmed Life.” While the original balances RJD2‘s soulful beats with the vocals of Aaron Livingston, Voodoo Farm’s remix features a brand new synth line and heavy backbeat, which gives the track a more airy feel and allows the vocals to dance around in your head.

Additionally, Voodoo Farm  has given Florence + The Machine‘s single “Shake It Out” the moombahton remix treatment. Not bad for his first moombahton track, eh?

It seems that Wick-It is an artist who doesn’t sleep. Just last week he released his moombahton remix of The Heavy‘s funk single “How You Like Me Now,” and today, we have his massive “halloweenbahton”/”trick or treat step” remix of Michael Jackson‘s hit “Thriller.” Keep an ear out for the 2 minute mark when the remix transitions the tempo from 108 BPM to 72 BPM.

A few weeks back, Pretty Lights released a new single “I Know The Truth,” along with a recap of his 2011 Bonnaroo performance. In regards to the track, Pretty Lights said

“I wanted to try to fuse the emotion of dark 60′s soul music with the energy of raw bass heavy dubstep. All the instruments were recorded to tape and then pressed to vinyl and then sampled for the sole purpose of attaining a warm organic timbre, and all the bass and synth sounds were reprocessed through analog synth modules to get a dirtier and at the same time warm tone.”

Additionally, Pretty Lights has released a remix of his Filling Up The City Skies single “How We Do.” The video is a recap of this year’s Lollapalooza festival, which we sadly were unable to attend.

Ever since The Heavy‘s single “How You Like Me Now” appeared in a KIA commercial, which featured the adventures of a sock monkey and other random creatures, we have been hooked on the band’s fresh take on funk. Check out “Pretty Lights vs. Led Zeppelin,” the latest remix from Pretty Lights, which combines Derek Vincent Smith’s signature blend of electro with seven Led Zeppelin songs. By creating a collage of Led Zeppelin tracks and then adding elements of classic  rock, hip-hop, downtempo, and dubstep, Pretty Lights continues to bend genres, and redefines what it means to create a remix.

On July 29, NYC-based producer/DJ/filmmaker Liam Dirlam brought his Voodoo Farm project to a live setting at Dewey Beach’s Bottle And Cork. While the set consisted mostly of remixes that Dirlam has released over the past few months, an unreleased track was included as the closer, and we have never been more excited to share a new take on  Marvin Gaye‘s ”I Heard It Through the Grapevine.” Let the soulful electro blow your speakers up!

Over the past few years, Aesop Rock, Rob Sonic, and DJ Big Wiz, have performed live together, and even made appearances on each other’s solo albums. In 2011, the trio joined forces to release their debut LP under the Hail Mary Mallon moniker, Are Gonna Eat That?.
