Music for Perfect People

Back in 1966 and 1967, the Beach Boys recorded a number of sessions that were intended to be released as a follow-up to 1966′s Pet Sounds. The recordings were dubbed Smile but were never released due to “clashes within the group and their leader Brian Wilson’s deteriorating mental health.” [via] That is until now! The Smile Sessions are currently streaming here, but you only have a few more days to listen!

Recently, Robert Capria created and animated a music video for The Smile Sessions‘ single “Heroes and Villains”, which can be seen below. My favorite part of the video is around the 28 second mark where a group of skeletons shoot multi-colored beams of light into the air, which later becomes the rotating background for a hula dancer to bust her moves infront of.

Welcome to November! This is the one month out of the year where a large number of men will opt out of shaving in order to grow a moustache and support the Movember cause, which raises funds and awareness for men’s health (specifically cancers that affect men.) Keeping all of this mind, isn’t it odd that Zedd has released his video for the single “Shave It” on November 1?

Because we are a fan of Zedd and his latest single, our advice is to enjoy the song now and follow the instructions from the track on December 1.

Earlier today, Man Man debuted their music video for “Piranhas Club,” which is off the band’s latest effort Life Fantastic. In the video, we see a group of children who adjust their attitudes once they dress like a greaser (i.e. slicked back hair and a leather jacket) and take on a group of bullies.

Life Fantastic is currently one of MFPP’s top albums of 2011 and can be purchased here.

Earlier this month, the group of childhood friends from Ontario, Canada who form the band Hollerado released their latest single “Good Day At The Races,” along with the b-side “Walkin Out On Daytime.” Additionally, a music video for “Good Day At The Races” is currently available for your viewing pleasure, and features footage of the band partaking in an ostrich riding race at a farm in Kansas.

On April 12th, the Foo Fighters will be releasing their eighth studio effort Wasting Light. Below, we have the music video for the first single from the album, “Rope,” which gives off an Apple (iPod, iPad, iWhatever) commercial vibe. Hit play and see what we mean.

David Borkmann, the young producer hailing all the way from Sweden, has a unique sound that comes from a combination of the rock/funk music he jammed out to  in former bands, the classical music he learned from his early days as a pianist, and the house music from his days as a DJ.
