In my opinion, the LCD Soundsystem cover of Alan Vega’s “Bye Bye Bayou” is a more enjoyable listen than that of This is Happening. Their latest effort hasn’t grown on me as well as I had hoped it would but the cover, on the other hand, is quite solid.

A lovely track from their almost-upon-us Static On The Wire EP, out May 18 through DFA. Holy Ghost! are on tour with LCD Soundsystem in May and June.

If you are like me, you want to go to Coachella this year more than anything .. but sadly cannot. Due to a full-time job + monetary constraints, this guy will not be enjoying the beautiful California weather + the wonderful music. This does not mean, however, that you or I cannot get a small taste of the Coachella experience! Check the list (h/t CoS) below, for the band’s who will be broadcasted via webcast for this year’s festival. I have bolded the bands I would like to watch .. from my couch.

I guess when an album leaks all over the internet, it is best for the band to just let the album stream through their website. MGMT did it with Congratulations and now LCD Soundsystem will be doing the same thing with their upcoming release This is Happening. Head over to the LCD website for tour dates + album info .. enjoy the stream below ..
Check out the first live performance I have seen of LCD Soundsystem’s “Drunk Girls.” The video is from their show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg last night.
Thanks to hypernyck for the videos!

The Northern bit, at least. These are sandwiched between two Euro runs:
05-20 New York, NY – Terminal 5
05-21 New York, NY – Terminal 5
05-24 Montreal, Quebec – Metropolis
05-25 Toronto, Ontario – Koolhaus
05-26 Chicago, IL – Metro
05-29 Portland, OR – Roseland
05-30 George, WA – Sasquatch Festival
05-31 Vancouver, British Columbia – Malkin Bowl
06-03 San Francisco, CA – Fillmore
06-08 Austin, TV – Stubb’s
06-09 Dallas, TX – Palladium
06-11 Manchester, TN – Bonnaroo Festival
Bonnaroo might inching up (pun intended) in the Sexiest-Festival-of-2010 contest. Speaking of sexy, Upper West Side dudes Holy Ghost! have the opening honors for that pair of Terminal 5 shows. Last year’s Green Label Sound single “I Will Come Back” is so easy, it reminds you of an Asian girl in mid-July each and every time.
Yesterday, we got teased by “Drunk Girls”. Second verse, same as the first.

Sorry LCD Soundsystem .. we didn't mean to sleep on your two new tracks ..
Once again, posting was delayed over here at MFPP. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of last week all revolved around the three nights of RXB in New York City.
Excuses aside, I didn’t get a chance to post the news that there are TWO new tracks from LCD Soundsystem spinning around the interweb. Below, you can listen to the track “Drunk Girls” and also find a link over to “Pow Pow.”
Also, check out the track “Pow Pow” over at Stereogum.

This year, the Yves Saint Laurent fashion show in Paris, France called upon James Murphy’s electronic act LCD Soundsystem to set the sound + pace for the event.
Enjoy the women and the music in the video below …

Check out the new track from LCD Soundsystem “Oh You (Christmas Blues,) which is from the soundtrack for Ben Stiller’s latest flick, Greenberg. The quality of the track could certainly be better being that it is a radio rip (you’ll realize this when the DJ chimes in towards the end) but it is good enough to give you an idea of what the soundtrack/movie will sound like. “Oh You (Christmas Blues)” doesn’t exemplify the sound one might be used to coming from James Murphy .. but then again, when was the last time Ben Stiller did a serious movie?

Can’t wait for this album ..
To say I am a little excited for this is an understatement.

From the Press Release:
‘Bye Bye Bayou’ is the first new music from LCD Soundsystem since the release of ‘Sound of Silver,’ and it is a stunning re-introduction of the band to the world. The track is a cover of an Alan Vega (Suicide) song from his 1981 debut album.
“Bye Bye Bayou” is 8+ minutes of classic LCD Soundsystem, deep soulful grooves that will appeal to fans and non-fans alike.”
