Check out this live video of GAYNGS performing “The Beatdown”, “Crystal Rope” and “Spanish Platinum” in Boston. Great sound + video!
Also, I am a fan of getting festive and carving up a pumpkin for Halloween but I do not enjoy putting spooky faces and bats/ghouls into the gourd. This year’s 30 lb. pumpkin got some GAYNGS treatment as you can see below ..
Making their network debut, GAYNGS peroformed their Realyted opening track “The Gaudy Side of Town” on Jimmy Fallon last night. Check it out below ..

It would appear that GAYNGS is the band I have blogged about the most this week but there is certainly nothing wrong with that! We previously showed you the group’s cover of the Alan Parson Project track “Eye in the Sky” and then followed that up with a live video of “Faded High.”
Today, Daytrotter has released a session with GAYNGS and I am quite excited to give this a listen. The set included the tracks “By Your Side”, “The Gaudy Side of Town”, “No Sweat”, and “Crystal Rope.”

Earlier today we posted a new video from GAYNGS covering the Alan Parsons Project track “Eye of the Sky” but little did we know that there would be more wonderful music from the Minnesota supergroup. Here we have GAYNGS performing their Relayted single “Faded High” for City of Music, a weekly live performance series on MPLS.tv.
Check out GAYNG‘s taking on the Alan Parsons Project track “Eye in the Sky.” I am thoroughly enjoying this acapella stroll through an open field ..

Combine the Midwest super group Gayngs with Har Mar Superstar and enjoy yourself a cover of George Michael’s “One More Try.” Relayted is one of my favorite albums of the year so it should come as no surprise that we are very excited about sharing this track with you!

Previously, we posted the amazing live video of Gayngs performing “The Gaudy Side of Town” at their Last Prom on Earth event. Thanks to the folks over at Some Kind of Awesome, we now have the audio for your listening and downloading pleasures ..
Wow .. I really wish I made it to the ‘Last Prom on Earth’ party that GAYNGS threw down in the midwest a few months back. This video for “The Gaudy Side of Town” seems to be shot at the aforementioned event and I am over impressed with how the group’s debut album translated into a live performance. Who doesn’t love Justin Vernon with auto-tune?
From MPLS.TV :
“Courtesy of GAYNGS and Filmmaker Isaac Gale is exclusive footage via MPLS.TV of the rehearsal of “The Gaudy Side Of Town” for The Last Prom on Earth featuring Zack Coulter of Solid Gold, and members of Bon Iver and Megafaun.”
I REALLY hope there is a ton of footage from this Last Prom on Earth party/performance.

Arriving home last Friday evening to find that my double LP of GAYNGS‘ Relayted was at my doorstep certainly started the weekend off in the right direction. For those of you who have not been keeping up with this group, the 24 member collaboration was started by producer Ryan Olson as a small side-project but slowly took shape into the sexy beast you can now hear/buy today. “The Last Prom on Earth” is the final track from Relayted and in the words of Gimme Noise, “Why yes, that is Ivan Howard from the Rosebuds doing his best Bowie-meets-Bone Thugs vocals, and Justin Vernon of Bon Iver adding in some sweet counterpart falsetto Auto-Tune raps.”

Gayngs have released their first official video from their debut album Relayted for the track “Cry.” While we get to see a good amount of the Gayng in the video, I personally find this to be one of the more “boring” tracks on the album. This is mainly due to the fact that it isn’t as sexy as “Faded High” or as smokey/dub-y as “The Gaudy Side of Town.” Either way, I highly suggest picking the album and giving it a listen!
UPDATE ::
From Some Kind of Awesome:
the band covers Godley & Creme’s “Cry.” The video also draws its inspiration from the source – animating the faces of its contributors to morph into one other. Many references are made to the original groundbreaking video, including an appearance by Kevin Godley himself.

Yesterday, Gayngs released the pre-order for physical copies of their album Relayted and the digital download !
In case you haven’t been sold on how awesome and sexy this album is, the band is currently streaming Relayted over at Minnesota Public Radio. The best message regarding this album came in the form of a tweet yesterday .. it said: “Dear Area Hospitals, 9 months from today there will be a spike in birth rates. You can blame @GAYNGS for it. Happy sexord release day!”

I will be receiving the 2 x LP version .. so pumped.
