TrackbackMaps & Atlases latest release Perch Patchwork is definitley one of my top vinyl purchases of the year as it is a wonderful listen from beginning to end. Just as the band released “Solid Ground” as the album’s single prior to its release, they have now chosen to use it in their FIRST music video!
The video finds Dave Davison in a boat where he has created isolation for himself while his band members use their musc to lure his vessel back to shore. Very cool concept and apparently it was fun to make also! Erin of Maps & Atlases said “the video shoot for Solid Ground was like what I imagine a rainy day at summer camp to be like. During the day we trudged through the damp woods with guitars and drums in hand and at night we sat around singing Tom Petty songs. At the end of it all, it was really sad to have to leave our new camp friends and head back home.”

Check out the short preview of the track “Keep It Quiet” from Ra Ra Riot’s upcoming release The Orchard. Maps & Atlases have recently been signed to Barsuk records and have now released information on their upcoming debut-full length. The album will be titled Perch Patchwork and will finally be available on June 29! For now, enjoy the new track “Solid Ground” below ..
