Earlier this month, the group of childhood friends from Ontario, Canada who form the band Hollerado released their latest single “Good Day At The Races,” along with the b-side “Walkin Out On Daytime.” Additionally, a music video for “Good Day At The Races” is currently available for your viewing pleasure, and features footage of the band partaking in an ostrich riding race at a farm in Kansas.

Tonight in Manchester, UK, Bon Iver will kick off their tour of Europe, which is almost entirely sold-out already. In case you were unable to get tickets, check out Justin Vernon as he is joined by his eight man band to perform the track “Towers” on Later with Jools Holland. “Towers” is from Bon Iver’s self-titled release, which is currently available though Jagjaguwar.

It seems that Wick-It is an artist who doesn’t sleep. Just last week he released his moombahton remix of The Heavy‘s funk single “How You Like Me Now,” and today, we have his massive “halloweenbahton”/”trick or treat step” remix of Michael Jackson‘s hit “Thriller.” Keep an ear out for the 2 minute mark when the remix transitions the tempo from 108 BPM to 72 BPM.

Starting yesterday, Tom Waits began streaming his forthcoming effort Bad As Me, which isn’t due out until October 24th. Members of Tom Waits’ mailing list were e-mailed a uniqe code that gave access to the stream.  If you did not receive a code, you can request one here. On November 15th, Suuns will release their “Bambi” 12′‘, which features two new singles the band recorded this past summer while they weren’t busy touring. As the band explains:

“Stark and futuristic, these are extended jams that may or may not materialize as condensed versions of themselves on records to come. Open air textures, repetition and exploration were the name of the game for us on this one, and the finished product is a refined mining of the ideas that came out. “Bambi” is a creepy story of love lost and found, while “Red Song” is just that: a song about color.” [via]

Even though Aman Ellis has been busy with the release of his latest effort The Cacti EP, Vol. 2, the Brooklyn producer has found time to create music for his disco-oriented sideproject AIMES. Check out AIMES’ bootleg of Cerrone‘s 1982 hit “Back Track,” which slows the original jam down a bit and really dives deep into a funky groove.

A few weeks back, Pretty Lights released a new single “I Know The Truth,” along with a recap of his 2011 Bonnaroo performance. In regards to the track, Pretty Lights said

“I wanted to try to fuse the emotion of dark 60′s soul music with the energy of raw bass heavy dubstep. All the instruments were recorded to tape and then pressed to vinyl and then sampled for the sole purpose of attaining a warm organic timbre, and all the bass and synth sounds were reprocessed through analog synth modules to get a dirtier and at the same time warm tone.”

Additionally, Pretty Lights has released a remix of his Filling Up The City Skies single “How We Do.” The video is a recap of this year’s Lollapalooza festival, which we sadly were unable to attend.

Earlier this week, DJ/Producer RJD2 and vocalist Aaron Livingston premiered The Abandoned Lullaby, which is the duo’s debut release as Icebird. Whether he is operating solo, as The Insane Warrior, or now as Icebird, RJD2 never fails to serve up delicious beats that showcase his unique style of production. Add the smooth vocals of Livingston and you’ve got yourself a solid record, which cannot be missed.

Ever since The Heavy‘s single “How You Like Me Now” appeared in a KIA commercial, which featured the adventures of a sock monkey and other random creatures, we have been hooked on the band’s fresh take on funk. It should come as no surprise that “How You Like Me Now” has received the remix treatment, and lucky for us Wick-It just released his moombahton remix of the track.

Earlier this month, Chicago’s Loyal Divide released their debut LP Bodice Ripper on Kilo Records. The standout track on the LP is “Vision, Vision,” which is perfect baby-making music and features a deep bass groove, haunting vocals, and a pulsating synth line. Overall, Bodice Ripper is a combination of electro and indie rock, which results in a dance party that one cannot help but be sucked into.

Over the past year or so, Jonathon Visger (of Mason Proper) has released a number of experimental pop singles under the name Absofacto. Back in August, he compiled 8 of these singles, remastered them to flow as an album, and added two new tracks, “Feathers (Don’t Change on Me)” and “I’m Gonna Make My Move.” The end result is his Sinking Islands LP, which can be streamed below.

Enjoy Absofacto’s blend of indie rock, which combines hip hop production, layered harmonies, and electronic effects. Also, you can pick up a digital copy of the LP here.
