Tom Caruana, the man who brought us the mash-up album Wu-Tang vs. The Beatles, is now set to release his latest effort Black Gold, which features the Wu-Tang vs. Jimi Hendrix.
Below, we have the mash-up of Method Man’s “What’s Happening” and Hendrix’s “Crosstown Traffic,” along with the Wu-Tang Clan’s “C.R.E.A.M.” and Hendrix’s “The Wind Cries Mary.”

Ohio natives Kevin Bayer and Yusef Quotah are an electronic audio-visual collaboration that releases music under the name You, You’re Awesome. What makes this project so special is the duo’s ability to combine analog/digital synths, with the sounds of videos games, and LIVE drums. After recording three six-song EPs over the last few years, You, You’re Awesome are releasing their debut LP, Good Point, Whoever Said That, for FREE!

With the single, and video, for “A Chore” being released a few weeks back, we were pleased to announce that Tom Vek is returning to the music scene with his latest album Leisure Seizure. My first taste of NYC’s dance-punk outfit The Rapture came through their single “Out Of The Races And Onto The Tracks,” which I first heard back in high school. The jangly guitars, catchy dance riffs, and killer lyrics (i.e. “shake, shake, shake, shake”) really turned me on to their sound, and after seeing them perform live, I was hooked. With the release of their 2002 debut Echoes, which featured the infectious single “House Of Jealous Lovers,” The Rapture began to gain more ground in the music scene, and their live shows/DJ sets became a settled source of great music in NYC.
Now, The Rapture are ready to return to your stereos with the September 6 release of In The Grace Of Your Love through DFA Records. While we only have the tracklist to offer at this time, we will keep you updated as any new information/tracks emerge!

After Justice teased their latest single “Civilization” in an ADIDAS campaign, the audio was ripped from the commercial, and spread like a wild fire across the blogosphere. Now, a few months after our initial exposure, the French electro duo have released an official video for the single, which features a mythical world that is crumbling around its inhabitants. Did we mention these inhabitants are a herd of buffalo? Social commentary much?

On July 19th, Sole and the Skyrider Band will release their latest effort Hello, Cruel World through Fake Four, Inc.. This will be Sole’s first full-length release since leaving Anticon, the music label he helped found back in 1998.
Recently, the track “Pianos Falling” made its way to the interwebs, and features SSRB’s electronic rap combined with the synth work of Black Moth Super Rainbow‘s frontman Tobacco. While “Pianos Falling” won’t find a spot on Hello, Cruel World, it is still a great track that was just never released .. until now.

Fucked Up have just released a mini making-of doc for their upcoming 18-track opus David Comes To Life. It’s a pretty cool history of a band that started as a disparate group with marginal skill, who collectively evolved into something very special. The fact that the video feels something like a eulogy makes their new record even more of an event.
