Last year, Eskmo released his self-titled album on Ninja Tune, which happened to be one of our top listens of 2010 (even though it didn’t make the top 20 list.) Although today is a gross, rainy Friday in NYC, we are happy with the fact Tom Waits is currently recording a new album, and that we now have a full list of tour dates from one of MFPP’s favorite groups, Portugal. The Man. The tour will kick-off in Oregon as the group makes its way around the U.S. with its final stop at this year’s Bonnaroo festival.

Currently, Portugal. The Man are working on their forthcoming release, which has yet to be titled. This is their “hugely anticipated Atlantic Records debut” and was worked on by “producer John Hill (Santigold, M.I.A., Devo) and Grammy Award-winning mixer Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Coldplay, Paul McCartney).” [via AP]

From Love You Moon:

While RX Bandits were in Caracas Venezuela in 2009 on our South American tour, I was able to spend many hours in the Waipea Records studio on our days off. Our Venezuelan brother Marcel recorded tons of my freestyle jamming with an acoustic guitar into the wee hours of the night. Well, he surprised me by taking a section of the session and getting some awesome Venezuelan musicians (Waipea Allstars) to play over my track.
