Last week, the Philly band known as Brown Recluse self-released their Panoptic Mirror Maze EP through bandcamp. When searching the band’s name, you will most likely find more pages about some gross looking spider than information about the band but don’t let that sway you! Imagine the band actually being a spider, 8 legs and all, with each one of their spider legs touching in to a different musical genre. On January 11, the 4 piece electro rock outfit Tigersapien dropped their Clean Lines EP on to iTunes. Previously, the only way to stream the EP was through an iPhone app that also allowed users to connect to facebook/twitter, and view photos and videos from the band.
What makes Tigersapien unique from most other electro groups is the fact they play their music with live instruments. Thats right .. LIVE electronic music! Check out the Clean Lines EP opener “Fools” below and you’ll see what all the fuss is about ..

Over the past three years, the Italian electronic dance duo of Bob Rifo (aka Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo) and DJ Tommy Tea (aka Isaac) have worked under the The Bloody Beetroots moniker to make their way into “disco-punk-stardom.” [via] According to his statement on the band’s website, SBCR decided it was a good idea to release the Best Of … Remixes album because of their gaining popularity. After seeing this pop up on the interwebs (i.e. Some Kind of Awesome, I Guess I’m Floating, Listen Before You Buy,) I have finally gotten around to posting the amazing remix of The Black Keys‘ single “Everlasting Light” by The Mummers. What was originally a straightforward bluesy, garage rock jam has now been transformed into an orchestral pop piece that for some reason reminds me of the circus.

When I hear the name Aloe Blacc, I think Good Times and some throw-back soul music. Through the track “Catch”, the album closer of Mr. Brady‘s latest effort Labor of Love, Blacc shows that he is not a one trick soul pony as he settles back in to his hip-hop roots with his rhymes.
