The Portland duo known as BRAINSTORM released their Beast in the Sky 7” last month and we wanted to share with you their interesting take on experimental pop + soul. “Beast in the Sky” and “Word Up – Upward” leave plenty of space for shredding guitar riffs and tuba bass lines as they travel through their odd rhythms and tempos. According to the band, the Beast in the Sky 7” is “a flurry of sounds referencing Colombian Cumbia, African High-Life, and noisy prog.” [via] Make sure to pick up your marbleized colored vinyl here.
