Music for Perfect People

Sometimes information on a band is quite scarce and so you let the music do the talking. Such is the case with Poland’s Loveliers and so all I can do  is recommend you check out the synth pop jam “Interactivity” and see if you can take this disco/dance beat for a spin. It is certainly another hot + extremely humid day here in New York  but luckily I stumbled upon the refreshing tunes “Not Enuff” and “Faded Feeling” from South Carolina’s Top Girls. Both tracks dance around with an industrial feel but the sound certainly isn’t harsh. Mellow synths and distorted vocals make it much easier for me to drift off into a “cooler” state of mind and peel my legs off this chair.

Boy do I feel like I am getting old .. I remember when I first heard the Rapture’s track “Out of the Races and Onto the Tracks” back when I was in high school. In fact, I am pretty sure they opened up for Andrew W.K. when I saw him perform back in 2004 or so. Regardless, the Rapture have stayed relatively quiet over the past few years aside from DJ gigs + the departure of Mattie Safer. Luckily, the bassman loss has not ripped the group apart and they even debuted a new track at a semi-secret show in Brooklyn last week.
