Jeff said he was inspired to do the mixtape after fellow DJ Mick Boogie suggested putting his playlist together as a proper release.
“I did it exactly as I would play it out live,” Jeff explained. “I kind of wanted to give a feel like you heard it in a club. I didn’t necessarily want to go in a certain order, ’cause everybody in the world plays certain Michael Jackson songs. And I wanted to play songs that not everyone plays, play some obscure album cuts. And if you listen to it, I have some a capella and versions of songs that not everyone had heard. So, I kind of wanted to mix it up and keep people off guard. Just give them an example of all that Michael was like.”
If you have never listened to Fela Kuti, you have a chance below to check out a collection of his greatest hits below. Highly RECOMENDED!

Check out “Can’t Stop Partying” in case you wondered what a mixture of Weezer and Lil Wayne would sound like.
What does it sound like you say? I do believe there was a two word review for Spinal Tap’s Shark Sandwich that might help sum this up .. but that is just one man’s opinion.
Be the judge for yourself below ..

You’ve heard the song “There are Listed Buildings” here already .. now you can enjoy the video!

“For over half a decade, Vice Magazine’s Electric Independence column has told the world what some weirdly-named guy in our London office thinks about electronic music. Now, through the magic of “video cameras,” we’ve brought those beloved words to vibrant, three-dimensional life! Hosted by a hulking Australian sound nerd, each episode of EL will delve into the stultifying minutia of all the weird technological gizmos and thing-boxes your favorite electro artists use to squorch out their squeeps.”
Check out the two segments from Motherboard’s Electric Independence dealing with Moby and his NYC apartment/studio that is filled to the brim with analog equipment. This has inspired me to continue my search for a theramin and other obscure pieces of equipment ..
Continuing on .. here is Part 6.

The first video is from Portugal. The Man’s FREE acoustic/electric set at the Apple store in Soho. Much respect to the cameraman/camerawoman that shot this video being that the Apple store employees were not allowing photography of any kind. Apparently, the set was recorded for some sort of CD/DVD (?) to be released some time in the future .. Either way, the set was beautiful, Portugal. The Man was accompanied by a violin player and they had video footage of their travels across the country and adventuring in Alaska behind the stage (you can check out some of the video here) ..
As if the night couldn’t get any better, the band then performed an electric set headlining the Bowery Ballroom. Check out the video below for “Work All Day” from their latest release The Satanic Satanist. This was by far the best performance I have seen by Portugal. The Man ..
A studio version of Them Crooked Vulture’s “New Fang” has hit the airwaves and thanks to some radio rippage, you can download/ listen to the audio below.”New Fang” is track 3 on the band’s self-titled debut that is set to be released on November 16th

I was in a waiting room for almost an hour yesterday and thankfully (?) nothing like the following video from The Bird and the Bee was going on .. although that certainly would have been very amusing for a few minutes.
