If you have not heard of Janelle Monae then you certainly need to find her album in stores (or on the web for all you illegal downloaders) ASAP .. from what I have heard, she has been killin’ it over in SXSW and has some tour dates lined up with No Doubt over the summer ..
Check out her myspace for some tracks .. she has a great mix of funk, soul and r&b .. certainly a good listen to before all you kids get your weekend crunk on..

Back in 1963, Maurice Sendak released a book titled Where the Wild Things Are that told of imaginary creatures who live inside the mind of a young lad named Max.
October 16, 2009 is the expected release date of the film adaptation of this children’s classic under the production of Spike Jonze.
I am excited about this so there will be more news as we find it.

Come experience “Hip Hop Monologues” a play which pierces barriers between the rapper Jim Jones’ personal life and the audience. We see him as he battles an über-affinity for intercourse, troubles with the law, betrayal from friends, and backlash from female fans (and a lover). He eventually evolves into a more mature man, boyfriend, and father.
The play is set to music straight from Jim’s upcoming album PRAY IV REIGN.
