Dearest Members living in the World of Music for Perfect People .. We apologize for the lack of updates this week. Unfortunately, the rat race doesn’t always allow for time to write about what you love .. which is obviously music and anything BUT the 9-5.
This week has been a quiet one for me regarding new tunes so I figured I would share some videos of a band I have seen a couple of times and enjoyed THOROUGHLY. MAN MAN is a wonderful group of lively musicians who form together with a large array of instruments, costumes, and bring a lot of randomness to their live show. Their records incorporate lots of obscure sounds like fireworks that were set off on a major Philly roadway, simulated drowning ( an effect that was not told to the member of the band who was “drowned”), among other oddities … check out the videos and you’ll get the idea. They are all over the place but are always together in their live shows and these guys are workaholics .. check it!

In other news, Tom Waits has released a track working with NASA which can be heard on his myspace. The name of the song is Spacious Thoughts.

Ghostface has also written a song for Rihanna .. way better than that nonsense Oprah spewed regarding the Chris Brown situation. You can listen to the song HERE.

Also, you should check out my good friend McKenzie Eddy’s MySpace page. She has a beautiful voice and talent to back it up .. she has a show coming up on March 29th at the Bitter End in NYC .. check it!
Here is a a blurb from her myspace ..
“Singer/Songwriter McKenzie Eddy grew up on Hilton Head Island, SC. She fronted and helped form the her first rock band at age 15 with friend and guitarist Cooper Bradley…at age 17 she taught herself how to play piano and began, with, Bradley, writing and recording her original music. After high school, McKenzie attended the University of South Carolina where she met fellow future band mate, Liam Dirlam. She collaborated with Dirlam on various projects throughout college, and with Dirlam, guitarist Sean O’connell, drummer Geoffery Robertson, and Bassist Robert Corrigan, formed the funk/rock/hip hop powerhouse known as Stealing From Bandits…http://www.myspace.com/stealingfrombandits. It was on-stage with Stealing From Bandits, traveling throughout the Southeast, that McKenzie honed her on stage skills and developed her vocal talents. After college, McKenzie moved to Brooklyn, NY where she now resides and is currently working on her first solo album.”
