Something good came out of Jimmy Fallon recently (that constitutes news). Due to the fact that The Roots will be serving as Fallon’s house band, they will also kick off a residency at New York’s Highline Ballroom Thursday, March 5th and running through June 23rd. TICKETS ARE $10 DOLLARS. Guests are expected nightly (it’s been pegged The Jam). Thanks to JamBase for the heads up. [Note: I just ordered tickets for two of the shows. All of the shows are on weeknights, and all begin at 11:30. ]

Conan O’brien announced The White Stripes will be the musical guest for his last episode (February 20th). David Letterman scoffed and announced U2 will have a residency as his musical guest the week of March 2nd.
Also, Flight of the Conchords released their new music video “Friends” (filmed at The Gutter in Williamsburg). I like them because they are funny.
